England v France: Lionesses must be backed at a silly price

England v France Sunday, 19:45 Live on Channel 4 and British Eurosport 2 I spoke yesterday to an experienced English Coach who feels that this is "England's time". They have a horrible historical record against France, one which is being widely publicised, but as bettors we can only look at the evidence that we have in front of us at any given time. And right now that points overwhelmingly to an  England victory . France have been really poor here, and there is logic to Mark Sampson's criticism of  Olivier Echouafni  as out of his depth. I don't think that Sampson does himself any favours at all with comments like that, and wish that he had concentrated on his own job, but that doesn't make him a footballing Walter Mitty. France are without Wendy Renard , who is a massive defensive figure for them, and are struggling to find an identity. The Coach has chopped and changed, there's no service for the brilliant Eugenie Le Sommer, and while there's ...

Women's Euros Tips: Germany and Spain look vulnerable

Germany v Denmark Saturday, 19:45 Live on Channel 4 and British Eurosport 2 This has been the most competitive Women's Euros ever and really something to behold. Gone are the days of Germany steamrollering teams and looking like certain winners, and even though the Germans have a habit of improving throughout tournaments and finding a way to win them, they have their hands full here. The Germans come into this quarter-final having won two of their three games, but have scored only one goal from open play. They've required three penalties to get the job done, and their lack of a goal-scorer anywhere near the calibre of  Birgit Prinz has been all too evident. There's still a chance that  Mandy Islacker  will catch fire in the knockout stages, as she's talented and has been a bit unfortunate so far, but with the captain  Dzenifer Maroszan  playing too deep and not affecting play, there's a real lack of creativity. Denmark have looked really good so far and...

International Champions Cup Betting: Ronaldo absence makes Barca the bet

Real Madrid  2.76 , Barcelona  2.46 , The Draw  3.85 Sunday, 01:05 Live On Premier Sports The American soccer audience gets to sample an  El Clasico  in the early hours of Sunday morning UK time, as Barcelona and Real Madrid clash in the International Champions Cup. It's Barcelona that are currently faring better in the competition, having won both of their games. A 2-1 win against Juventus was followed by a 1-0 victory over Manchester United, with all three of their goals having been scored by  Neymar . The Brazilian is attracting plenty of headlines at the moment due to his rumoured move to PSG and a recent training ground disagreement with Barcelona's new signing  Nelson Semedo . Should Neymar be selected for the match, he looks well-priced to  add to his tally  at  4.00 . Real Madrid have got off to a slower start in pre-season, drawing with Manchester United before losing on penalties and then being thrashed 4-1 by  Manchester ...

International Champions Cup Betting: Back goals galore from Man City and Spurs

Chelsea  1.77 , Inter Milan  4.80 , The Draw  3.60 Saturday, 12:35 Live On Chelsea TV Chelsea are the heavy favourites to win this one, but it is  Inter Milan  that come into the game off the back of a win. While Chelsea lost 3-2 to  Bayern Munich  back on Tuesday, Inter beat the German champions 2-0 on Thursday, as Eder Martins helped himself to a brace. Luciano Spalletti's team are putting together an impressive run of pre-season form. They lost to Nurnberg in mid-July, but since then have drawn with Schalke and then beat  Lyon  and Bayern in the ICC without conceding a goal. The disadvantage that Inter have is that they will only get a day of rest before plunging back into action against Chelsea. They've had a heavy schedule and Spalletti will surely have to rotate his  weary squad , before they head back to  Italy  to play another friendly next weekend. Chelsea have had longer to rest and can afford to play their...

MLS Betting: Back goalfests in Toronto and Orlando

Atlanta United v Orlando City Saturday, 21:30 Live on Sky Sports Football These two came together last week in Orlando, and the visitors were fortunate to come away with a victory after Orlando had done pretty well to stifle Atlanta for large parts of the game. It was only a piece of real magic from Hector Villalba that grabbed a late win, both for the MLS newbies and for this column. There had been a downpour prior to that match in Florida, and thunderstorms which very nearly caused its postponement, and at times the pitch got in the way of the game. I think we'll see a very different kind of encounter in the return, and expect goals. I know that  Atlanta have now kept three clean sheets in their last four games , and the addition of Brad Guzan makes them yet more solid, but Guzan had to be at his very best last week, and Atlanta look a little creaky defensively.  Orlando may have failed to score on seven occasions  so far this season, but I fancy that they might ...

International Champions Cup Betting: Extra prep can aid Man Utd against Barcelona

Barcelona  1.93 , Manchester United  4.00 , The Draw  4.10 Thursday, 00:30 Live on MUTV Both Barcelona and Manchester United are unbeaten thus far in pre-season, but it is the  Premier League  club that are further along in their preparations for the new campaign. Barca have only played one game so far, a 2-1 victory over a Juventus side also making their first appearance of pre-season. In contrast, United have already played four times. They beat the  MLS  sides LA Galaxy and Real Salt City, before defeating their neighbours Manchester City in the International Champions Cup and then winning a penalty shootout against Real Madrid after a 1-1 draw. In pre-season, the extra fitness that comes with playing more games can be crucial. With that in mind, the price for a Manchester United win looks too big, making the  Draw No Bet  at  3.00  and the  2.04  for United to avoid defeat in the  Double Chance market, attr...
