Napoli v Manchester City: Pep Guardiola's record breakers can make European statement

Napoli v Manchester City Wednesday 1 November, 19:45 Live on BT Sport 3 Can Napoli bring domestic form to Europe? Defeat at the Etihad on Matchday Three aside, Napoli enter this game against Manchester City in excellent form. They currently sit atop Serie A with 10 wins and a single draw so far and look well placed to end Juventus' six-year stranglehold on the Italian domestic league. Furthermore, they are in formidable form at the San Paolo, where they are unbeaten since losing to eventual winners Real Madrid in last season's Champions League Round of 16 in early March. The latest in that run came on Sunday where they beat lowly Sassuolo 3-1 thanks to goals from Allan, Jose Callejon and Dries Mertens. The latter two, alongside Lorenzo Insigne, comprise one of the most exciting attacking lines in European football and one which has helped Napoli score an impressive 32 goals in 11 league games this season. No signs of City's march to silverware stopping At least ...

Sporting Lisbon v Juventus: Old Lady can triumph away from home

Sporting Lisbon 4.10 v Juventus 2.08; The Draw 3.55 Tuesday, 19:45 Live on BT Sport Extra Juve chasing leaders on two fronts Juventus claimed a vital three points on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over AC Milan. Milan were expected to challenge Juve's dominance of Italian football after a major summer spending spree, but instead both Napoli and Lazio have proved to be surprise packages. Napoli are top of Serie A, three points ahead of Juventus after an unbeaten start, while Lazio are level on points with the reigning champions. Juventus lost at home to Lazio in a recent encounter, but since that defeat they have won all four of their games. This included a 2-1 win over Sporting Lisbon in the reverse fixture, in which Juve had to come from behind after an Alex Sandro own goal. Sporting now need to bounce back with a positive result at home if they are to stand any chance of making the knockout rounds. They currently trail second placed Juventus by three points, but can gain ...

Roma v Chelsea: Expect Giallorossi to keep things tight with goals lacking

Roma v Chelsea Tuesday 31st October 2017, 19:45 Live on BT Sport Roma Roma arrive at Tuesday night's tussle on the back of a three-match winning streak in Serie A with Torino, Crotone and Bologna all downed by the same 1-0 scoreline. The Giallorossi were indebted to Stephen El Shaarawy's wonder volley on Saturday evening to settle matters against Bologna. It's now just one loss in 11 outings for the Romans with initial concerns as to whether Eusebio Di Francesco could make the step up from Sassuolo easing. The new head coach has curtained made the Wolves a more solid proposition with the hosts boasting the division's best defence domestically. Roma do have a couple of selection concerns for the midweek match, mind. Emerson, Rick Karsdorp and Kostas Manolas remain sidelined meaning Bruno Peres, Alessandro Florenzi, Juan Jesus and Federico Fazio will form the Giallorossi's four-man defence in Di Francesco preferred 4-3-3 system. Chelsea Chelsea are well o...

Manchester United v Benfica: Mour of the same

Manchester United v Benfica Tuesday October 31 19:45  Live on BT Sport 3 United aren't pretty but they're effective Old habits die hard. Jose Mourinho's United started the season playing flamboyant attacking football but have reverted to type in recent weeks: too many men behind the ball, too rigid, too negative. There was no better example of all that than the fortuitous 1-0 win over Tottenham on Saturday. Even luckier was their 1-0 win over Benfica a couple of weeks ago that came from a horrible howler from young keeper Mile Svilar. Still, what those two wins do show is the strength in depth they possess. Marcus Rashford scored in Lisbon after coming off the bench, as did Anthony Martial against Spurs. Last Tuesday it was bit-part player Jesse Lingard scoring both goals against Swansea in the League Cup. With qualification to the Last 16 almost secured, there could be a few changes here. There is after all a trip to Chelsea coming up next Sunday. A little to...

Celtic v Bayern Munich: Three and easy for FCB in Glasgow

Celtic v Bayern Tuesday, 19:45 Live on BT Sport Celtic equal 100-year unbeaten record Brendan Rodgers is loving life in Glasgow. The former Liverpool boss guided The Hoops to a domestic treble last season, and they equalled their own 100-year-old British footballing record on Saturday when stretching their unbeaten domestic run to 62 games. We're not yet at Halloween, but the Glaswegians are already top of the Premiership - six points clear of Old Firm rivals Rangers - and in the final of the League Cup. Rodgers thought the 1-1 draw achieved with Kilmarnock at Parkhead on Saturday was disappointing, but described his side's form as phenomenal, and thought they weren't getting the credit they deserve for their achievements. It's true, Scottish football is presently in such a poor state that fans south of the border turn their noses up at results. Will Rodgers eventually get bored and push for a return to the English Premier League? That remains to be seen, but he...

Olympaikos v Barcelona: Another quick start likely for Barca

Olympiakos 16.00 v Barcelona 1.26; The Draw 6.60 Tuesday, 19:45 Live on BT Sport Extra Barca's fine form continues Barcelona beat Athletic Bilbao at the weekend to continue their fine run of form. The Spanish giants are unbeaten in 14 games since they lost both legs of the Super Cup to Real Madrid. Barca have won nine of their ten La Liga games, which has seen them build an eight point gap over Real, as they look to wrestle the title back from the Spanish capital. They're also topping Group D in the Champions League having won all three of their games. In their last outing Barcelona beat Olympiakos 3-1 at the Camp Nou, despite being reduced to ten men in the first-half when Gerard Pique was sent off. It would be a big surprise if Barcelona did not continue their winning streak when they visit Olympiakos. The Greeks lost to Panathinaikos at the weekend, which was their third defeat in nine Super League games this season. Back Barcelona to have match won by half-time...

Burnley v Newcastle: Clarets to edge a low-scoring affair

Burnley v Newcastle Monday, 20:00 Live on Sky Sports Main Event / Premier League Clarets hoping to rekindle Turf Moor love affair Football never ceases to amaze does it? Last season, well, until the end of April, Burnley would have struggled away from home if playing the Dog & Duck, their record was that bad. Yet this season the Clarets have already won at Chelsea and Everton while earning excellent draws away to Tottenham and Liverpool. But Burnley's excellent away form has come seemingly at a cost. This season their home form so far is a million miles away from what it was last term. Admittedly Sean Dyche's men have played just five games at Turf Moor this campaign but they've already lost to West Brom in the league, failed to beat relegation candidates West Ham and Huddersfield, and also suffered a penalty shoot-out defeat to Leeds in the EFL Cup. Burnley's only home win was a narrow victory over Crystal Palace, a team that would probably struggle agains...

Serie A Betting: Goals at the San Siro and Dacia Arena and a shock SPAL win

Milan v Juventus Saturday, 17:00 Live on BT Sport 3 and Betfair Live Video When Juve lost to Lazio a couple of weeks ago, some felt that cracks were starting to show and that this could finally be the year that their Serie A dominance ended. That might still be the case, but Max Allegri's team look like they're relishing the challenge, and mustn't be written off. They've come from behind to beat Sporting, they trounced Udinese with 10 men, and they saw off SPAL 4-1. They've conceded goals in all of those games, and Allegri admits that this is a worry, but the streetfighters from Turin are showing a different way of doing things, and they'll head to Milan trying to crush any green shoots that are appearing for the Rossoneri. I fancy Juve to win, but  I do think that they're a bit short at   2.00 , and given  the   2.02 that's available for Over 2.5 Goals , I think that the value lies there. Milan bounced back against Chievo in midweek, were back am...

La Liga Betting: Valverde reunion should go Barcelona's way

Alavés v Valencia Saturday, 12:00 Live on Betfair Live Video A quick one to start us off this week, with in-form Valencia very much worth backing to beat Alavés.  The hosts are in miserable form , with just three points to show from their nine games so far and one goal in four home games. Gianni De Biasi has had little impact since arriving a month ago, so it's shaping up to be a long old season. Valencia, by contrast, are in dreamland, last season's woes having transformed into sunny uplands under Marcelino. Los Che are still unbeaten and have now won five games in a row, scoring 21 goals in that run.  They're full of confidence and should have no trouble putting the Basques to the sword , even without suspended captain Dani Parejo. Recommended Bets 1.5pts Valencia -1.0 at [2.27] 0.5pts Valencia -2.0 [4.19] Athletic Club v Barcelona Saturday, 19:45 Live on Sky Sports Football and Betfair Live Video They rode their luck last weekend, their goals coming courtesy o...

Bundesliga Betting: Bayern to put upstarts Leipzig in their place

Bayern Munich v RB Leipzig Saturday October 28, 17:30 Live on BT Sport 2 Jupp Heynckes  remains unbeaten in his latest spell as Bayern Munich coach, but that record was put under severe strain by RB Leipzig on Wednesday, as Die Roten Bullen took the champions to penalties in the DFB Pokal. It was a tempestuous clash which saw  Naby Keita  sent off for the third time in seven games for club and country, and saw Mats Hummels square up to RBL sporting director Ralf Rangnick, after the latter tried to show the referee footage on his mobile phone which was meant to illustrate that his side should have had a first-half penalty. In the end, Leipzig blinked first, as  Timo Werner  failed from 12 yards to give Bayern victory after a 1-1 draw. Leipzig have every reason to think they can compete with Bayern this weekend, especially when you consider that they recently ended Borussia Dortmund's 41-match unbeaten run at home in the Bundesliga. However, I believe they ...

Ligue 1 Betting: Marseille to heap more misery on ex-boss Bielsa

Bordeaux v Monaco  (7th v 2nd) Sat, 16:00 BST Live on Betfair Live Video Under normal circumstances Monaco would be a sound selection to win this weekend but Falcao has been ruled out and that changes everything. The Colombia striker has been in sensational form, scoring 13 times in nine Ligue 1 appearances at a rate of a goal every 57 minutes. With him in the side,  Monaco would be a Draw No Bet pick at [2.07] ; without him, it's a different matter altogether. Bordeaux were tipped to challenge for a top-four place this season, and might still do, but they need to improve in the final third. For all their neat build-up play they can be toothless in front of goal. Star summer signing  Nicolas de Preville has yet to score in six starts since his £9m move from Lille, and there are question marks over whether he can find the net against the very best opposition.  Bordeaux's other available attackers - Malcom, Cafu, Francois Kamano and Alexandre Mendy - are hardl...
