The whipping boys of Group D were thrashed again on Thursday night, losing 4-0 away at Georgia.
That brought the total of goals conceded by Jeff Wood's side up to 50 in just nine games. Gibraltar are of course still in their infancy stage on the international scene, having played only matches since being given full UEFA membership in 2013.
Since then they have only won one match and scored just five goals. Wood is trying to develop a squad comprised mainly of local talent, with the odd eligible player from England such as the Bristol Rovers winger Jake Gosling, who is Gibraltar's all-time record scorer with two goals.
Scotland
Things were looking good for Scotland when they were 2-1 up against Poland, only for the Republic of Ireland to take a shock lead against Germany.
Throw in a late equaliser by Robert Lewandowski and the Scots were looking at another unsuccessful qualifying campaign. While the wounds will still be raw they can take solace from the fact that they were unlucky to have been drawn in such a tough group, which included not just the World Cup holders but also a Poland team that in Lewandowski has the top scorer in the qualification process.
Scotland played four games against Poland and the Republic of Ireland - who could both yet qualify alongside Germany - without losing. There is a real sense that improvements have been made under the leadership of Gordon Strachan and the Scottish FA should offer him a new contract.
With qualification off the cards, Strachan could choose to give opportunities to some of the players who did not start against Poland, with Celtic's Leigh Griffiths raring to be let off the leash having started the season strongly at club level.
Match Odds
Though they lack motivation Scotland are just 1.05 to win, with Gibraltar at 40.00 and the draw at 19.00.
The Scotland half-time/full-time double result at a likely 1.30 is scarcely better value, while Strachan's side are expected to be a similar price to Win to Nil. These markets are best ignored, with better prices to be found elsewhere.
Over/Under 3.5 Goals
Over 3.5 goals is 1.47 with unders at 2.80. Gibraltar's last seven games have seen at least four goals scored, with the 3-0 defeat to Georgia being the only one of their qualifying matches in which they kept the scoreline relatively decent.
Over 4.5 goals is 2.16 with five of Gibraltar's nine qualifiers having seen five goals or more. The earlier meeting between the two sides saw Scotland win 6-1 and you can back over 5.5 goals at 4.00 and over 6.5 is likely to be [6.5].
If you fancy Gibraltar to hit the net against the downbeat Scots again, both teams to score should be priced at around 4.00.

Griffiths has scored 12 goals in 18 games for Celtic this season and looks a good shout to get off the mark with Scotland. He is likely to be available at around 5.00 to score the first goal.
The Bournemouth winger Matt Ritchie hit a brilliant goal against Poland to bring his international tally to two in six appearances. Ritchie should be priced at about 2.00 to add to his tally.
