Ligue 1 Betting: Lyon set to bounce back from Champions League misery

Lyon v Toulouse (6th v 17th)
Fri, 19:30 BST
Live on BT Sport 2
Lyon's Champions League campaign is predictably turning into a disaster but they ought to be good enough to win this weekend.
Hubert Fournier's young squad never looked good enough to make an impact on the continental stage but they remain one of Ligue 1's better sides when they get their act together.
This game on Friday night is an excellent chance to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat at Zenit St Petersburg on Tuesday as they face a very poor Toulouse side.
The visitors' only win of the season came on the opening day and they owed that to big mistakes by St Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier (2-1).
Since then Toulouse's record is W0-D5-L4 and their manager Dominique Arribage has admitted they are facing a relegation battle this season.
A fall-out between star striker Wissam Ben Yedder and the club's powers-that-be over Toulouse's refusal to let the player join Marseille on transfer deadline day has soured the mood, and there are few other match-winners in the side.
Lyon are not playing at their best but ought to have enough quality to see off mediocre visitors.

Lorient v Rennes (9th v 7th)
Sat, 16:00 BST

Both teams to score has been a fantastic profit-maker on Rennes this season.
It has paid out in eight of their 10 fixtures so far including last weekend, when it was one of our winning selections as they took on Nice (the game finished 4-1 to Nice).
It is the smart choice this weekend as Both Teams to Score has paid out in seven of Lorient's 10 matches to date as well.
Sylain Ripoll's hosts are one of Ligue 1's most free-scoring sides - they've netted 16 times in six matches since the start of September.
The fact that Lorient have kept only two clean sheets in 10 matches shows how vulnerable they can be at the back.
At good odds, Both Teams to Score is a strong selection.

Montpellier v Bastia (18th v 15th) and Reims v Monaco (8th v 10th)
Sat, 19:00 BST and Sun, 13:00 BST

These two games are the big tips to be low-scoring affairs this weekend.
Montpellier have scored only six times in 10 matches, with last week's 0-0 draw at Bordeaux typical of their generally defensive approach this season. Six of their 10 games have featured under 2.5 goals.
Bastia's games have been higher-scoring but after a 2-0 defeat to PSG last weekend they will look to defend better and would be happy picking up a point.
Reims' home games have been particularly low-scoring this season: their five fixtures have yielded only 10 goals, with four of those five games featuring under 2.5 goals.
After a goal-laden spell in September Monaco have reverted to type since the start of the month - all four of their October fixtures have featured two goals or fewer, and a conservative approach is likely here.
Reims are dangerous opposition so the visitors will look to defend and then hit on the break.

Tottenham’s Dele Alli eyes Premier League debut at Manchester United

It was quite the opening statement. Dele Alli, 24 minutes into his first start in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt, suckered in Luka Modric of Real Madrid, nutmegged him and accelerated away. The 70,000 sell-out crowd at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena roared at the 19-year-old’s sheer impudence. "We had a laugh about it in the tunnel afterwards; he was very good about it,” Alli said. "He shook my hand and said to me: ‘You little bugger’ – or something like that. I didn’t shout ‘nuts’ when I did it. I used to do that when I was young and get told off for it." As Alli spoke at the Allianz after Tuesday’s 2-0 Audi Cup victory, some of Real’s galácticos filed past. This time last year the midfielder was preparing for MK Dons’ League One season opener against Gillingham. His previous competitive game was for MK against Yeovil in May. Alli says “unreal” and “surreal” on a number of occasions and it is little wonder. This is a young player of conviction. If the nutmeg on one of...
