La Liga Betting Preview: Slow start at the Coliseum

Atletico Madrid v Espanyol
Saturday 17:15
(Live on Sky Sports 2)
Atletico 1.28, Espanyol 15.50, The Draw 6.20
In the last three seasons, these two have met six times and those matches have delivered just six goals in total. Atletico have won 3/3 at the Vicente Calderon: 1-0, 1-0 and 2-0.
Those results are a nice match with Atletico's form this season: they're W4-D1-L1 at home, beating everyone who wasn't Barcelona or Real Madrid, but have scored only eight times across those six outings.
Espanyol have lost 3/3 on the road to teams now in the top half. Last season, Sergio Gonzalez's men lost 7/9 on the road to top-10 finishers. The issue for us is that the Parakeetsdid at least score in 9/12 of those. And 10 of them went Over 2.5 Goals.
With the visitors' good scoring record in mind, we're focusing on the Winning Margin, rather than the Correct Score - so that we have results like a 2-1 home win on side too.

Malaga v Granada
Saturday 19:30
 (Live on Sky Sports 2)
Malaga 1.87, Granada 5.10, The Draw 3.60
Rock-bottom Malaga welcome a team just one point above them on Saturday night.
The hosts look a bit short to us: they're an even W2-D2-L2 at the Rosaleda this season, while Granada have lost only 1/6 at home and away recently.
On the road, Granada are W1-D2-L1 against teams now 10th and below. Both teams scored in all four of those games.
Malaga have a solid defence, but they've conceded exactly once in 3/4 at home, while Granada have scored in 6/8 away from home under Jose Sandoval.

Getafe v Villarreal
Sunday 11:00
 (Live on Sky Sports 5)
Getafe 3.25, Villarreal 2.48, The Draw 3.35
Sixteenth-placed Getafe have earned 10 of their 11 points at the Coliseum (W3-D1-L2). But those three wins came against the three teams that now occupy the relegation zone. They scored just twice in the three other games and Sunday morning's encounter looks like being a low scorer.
Fourth-placed Villarreal have failed to score in any of their last three away matches. Each of their last five games have now been goalless at the break, which means that since mid-February 12/14 have been 0-0 after 45 minutes.

Eibar v Real Madrid
Sunday 15:00
 (Live on Sky Sports 2)
Eibar 7.80, Real 1.47, The Draw 5.10
Both teams have scored in each of Real Madrid's last four away matches.
Keylor Navas could be worked hard again on Sunday, behind a Real team that is reeling from its thrashing in el clasico. After going 4-0 up at Shahktar Donetsk in midweek, Los Blancos conceded three late goals.
Sixth-placed Eibar have exceeded expectations so far this term. The Basques have scored in each of the last eight rounds of La Liga and can deal another blow to Rafa Benitez this weekend.

Rayo Vallecano v Athletic Bilbao
Sunday 17:15
(Live on Sky Sports 3)
Rayo 3.25, Athletic 2.36, The Draw 3.55
Six of Athletic Bilbao's last seven Liga clashes with Rayo Vallecano have delivered Over 2.5 Goals and we're sweet on a few more goals in Vallecas this weekend.
Before a surprising 2-0 defeat at Granada a week ago, Athletic had scored at least twice in five straight games at home and away.
At the other end, Ernesto Valverde's men have logged just two clean sheets in 12 attempts this term, while Rayo have scored at least twice in 3/4 at their Campo de Futbol home.

Sevilla v Valencia
Sunday 19:30
 (Live on Sky Sports 3)
Sevilla 1.81, Valencia 4.70, The Draw 4.10
They have been erratic this season, but Sevilla are currently on a winning run of four at theRamon Sanchez Pizjuan, which also happens to have seen Over 2.5 Goals in 6/6 Liga games this term.
The Andalusians have beaten both Barcelona and Real Madrid in their hot streak, while Valencia have regularly disappointed this season, losing three of their last four on the road.
The most recent three of those games all went Over 2.5 Goals and that's how we'll give our bet the extra dimension it needs to go odds-against.

Atletico Madrid v Borussia Dortmund: In-form Germans will score again

Atletico Madrid  1.84  v Borussia Dortmund  5.10 ; The Draw  3.75 Tuesday 6 November, 20:00 Live on BT Sport Extra Borussia mark themselves out as contenders with Atletico thumping The reverse fixture produced one of the shock results in the last round of  Champions League  games, as Borussia Dortmund thrashed Atletico Madrid 4-0 at home. Dortmund's margin of victory against such an experienced European outfit, famed for their defensive solidity, was a major show of intent and marks them out as real contenders to win the competition. At the weekend they continued their fine form with a 1-0 win at  Wolfsburg , which stretched their unbeaten record this season (P17 W14 D3 L0). Lucien Favre's  side are now four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, which is the same number that currently separates Atletico Madrid from the La Liga leaders Barcelona. A 1-1 draw at Leganes over the weekend, stretched Atletico's unbeaten run in their d...

Eintracht Frankfurt v Borussia Dortmund: Eagles to build a wall in Berlin

Eintracht Frankfurt v Borussia Dortmund Saturday 27 May, 19:00 Live on BT Sport ESPN Eintracht Frankfurt This time last season, Eintracht Frankfurt were  fighting for survival  in a Bundesliga playoff against second-tier side Nurnberg. Fast forward a year, and they are preparing for their first major cup final since 2006, having finished well clear of relegation trouble this term. Having steered the Eagles through that playoff against Nurnberg, coach  Niko Kovac  set about galvanising not just the squad, but the entire club. Working with sporting director Bruno Hubner and former Germany striker Fredi Bobic,  Kovac has injected new life into an organisation that was drifting. Youngsters like defender  Jesus Vallejo  and forward Ante Rebic have been brought in on loan to good effect, and astute pickups like holding midfielder Omar Mascarell and forward Branimir Hrgota have become effective cogs in the machine. Although Frankfurt have twice...

Real Madrid v Plzen: Back hosts' scoring struggles to continue

Real Madrid  1.09  v Plzen  40.00 ; The Draw  15.00 Tuesday 23 October, 20:00 Live on BT Sport ESPN Lopetegui on brink as Madrid malaise continues Ordinarily this match would almost be guaranteed to be a routine home win that had the potential to be embarrassing for the visitors, but these are not ordinary times at  Real Madrid . The Spanish giants are now without a win in their last five games (D1 L4), after losing 2-1 at home to Levante at the weekend.  Marcelo's  72nd minute goal broke a painful spell of 481 accumulated minutes without a goal. Unsurprisingly,  Julen Lopetegui  is under huge pressure and it would be no surprise if he were sacked before this match takes place on Tuesday. If he survives the game and it's aftermath, then Sunday's El Clasico could finish him off. Despite Real's abject form, it would still be a massive shock if they failed to beat Viktoria Plzen, who were thrashed 5-0 by Roma in their most recent...
