Football Bet of the Day: In-form Canaries to cause an upset

After kicking off with a winner, Kev's opposing a Premier League side in the League Cup.

Much-changed Cherries could come unstuck

Bournemouth v Norwich
Tuesday 30 October, 19:45
Our old pals Molde came through once again for us last night, as their 3-1 win at Start comfortably covered our Over 2.5 Goals bet. We'll head to England now, because the League Cup has reached the fourth round, and either Bournemouth or Norwich will reach the quarter-finals tonight.
Bournemouth have made an outstanding start to the Premier League season, collecting 20 points from their first ten games. You would think that would give Cherries boss Eddie Howethe breathing space to take a proper swing at this competition and field a full-strength side, but he has decided to once again shuffle his pack.
Howe's team plays an attractive brand of football, and their recent games have featured plenty of goals. Nine of their last 11 games in league and cup have seen an Over 2.5 Goalsbet land. At home, five of Bournemouth's last six games have contained three goals or more.
Norwich City have had their ups and downs under German coach Daniel Farke, but they are currently heading in the right direction, having won their last three Championship matches to move up to fourth, just two points behind the leaders Sheffield United. If you stretch back further, they have won eight of their last ten matches.
Farke says Bournemouth are clear favourites, but it does sound like Eddie Howe will make changes to his side, and in-form Norwich could exploit that. The Canaries are unbeaten in seven away games, and won at Cardiff earlier in the competition.
At 1.61, Bournemouth seem a bit too short to me to win in 90 minutes, so I'll lay the hosts.
RECOMMENDED BETS
Lay Bournemouth at 1.61

Tottenham’s Dele Alli eyes Premier League debut at Manchester United

It was quite the opening statement. Dele Alli, 24 minutes into his first start in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt, suckered in Luka Modric of Real Madrid, nutmegged him and accelerated away. The 70,000 sell-out crowd at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena roared at the 19-year-old’s sheer impudence. "We had a laugh about it in the tunnel afterwards; he was very good about it,” Alli said. "He shook my hand and said to me: ‘You little bugger’ – or something like that. I didn’t shout ‘nuts’ when I did it. I used to do that when I was young and get told off for it." As Alli spoke at the Allianz after Tuesday’s 2-0 Audi Cup victory, some of Real’s galácticos filed past. This time last year the midfielder was preparing for MK Dons’ League One season opener against Gillingham. His previous competitive game was for MK against Yeovil in May. Alli says “unreal” and “surreal” on a number of occasions and it is little wonder. This is a young player of conviction. If the nutmeg on one of...
