Borussia mark themselves out as contenders with Atletico thumping

The reverse fixture produced one of the shock results in the last round of Champions League games, as Borussia Dortmund thrashed Atletico Madrid 4-0 at home.
Dortmund's margin of victory against such an experienced European outfit, famed for their defensive solidity, was a major show of intent and marks them out as real contenders to win the competition. At the weekend they continued their fine form with a 1-0 win at Wolfsburg, which stretched their unbeaten record this season (P17 W14 D3 L0).
Lucien Favre's side are now four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, which is the same number that currently separates Atletico Madrid from the La Liga leaders Barcelona. A 1-1 draw at Leganes over the weekend, stretched Atletico's unbeaten run in their domestic league to eight matches (W4 D4).
A problem for Atletico this season has been the lack of a reliable goalscorer. Antoine Griezmann is their top scorer with five goals in fifteen games, while only four other players have scored more than one goal for Diego Simeone's side.

Dortmund's attack will enjoy another successful night

Atletico don't score many goals but they are at least consistent in finding the net in most matches.
The away match against Dortmund was one of only two games in which Atletico didn't score in their last twelve games. Dortmund have only failed to score in one of their 17 matches, of which nine were away games. Both teams to score seems the bet here at 1.80.

Back both Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund to score at 1.80

Tottenham’s Dele Alli eyes Premier League debut at Manchester United

It was quite the opening statement. Dele Alli, 24 minutes into his first start in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt, suckered in Luka Modric of Real Madrid, nutmegged him and accelerated away. The 70,000 sell-out crowd at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena roared at the 19-year-old’s sheer impudence. "We had a laugh about it in the tunnel afterwards; he was very good about it,” Alli said. "He shook my hand and said to me: ‘You little bugger’ – or something like that. I didn’t shout ‘nuts’ when I did it. I used to do that when I was young and get told off for it." As Alli spoke at the Allianz after Tuesday’s 2-0 Audi Cup victory, some of Real’s galácticos filed past. This time last year the midfielder was preparing for MK Dons’ League One season opener against Gillingham. His previous competitive game was for MK against Yeovil in May. Alli says “unreal” and “surreal” on a number of occasions and it is little wonder. This is a young player of conviction. If the nutmeg on one of...
